Selectboard creates town committees - public invited to join

The Townshend Selectboard is soliciting volunteers for the following town committees:

General Fund Committee: to meet and review the budget status, to discuss General Fund issues, and to make proposals or recommendations to the Selectboard. To research and propose a draft budget to the selectboard at budget time.

Highway Fund Committee: to review the budget status, to research and make recommendations or proposals to the Selectboard regarding highway department matters. To propose a draft budget to the selectboard at budget time.

Common Committee: To propose and execute plans to maintain and upgrade the Common.

IT Committee: to research the needs of the town regarding IT services. To engage with IT companies about providing services to Townshend. To make a proposal to the Selectboard regarding IT services.

Policy Committee: To determine what policies need to be enacted or updated. Research and draft proposed polices for the selectboard to review and vote on.

Ethic Committee: to be formed per the Conflict of Interest Policy.

Finance Office Transition Team: To work to find a treasurer to be appointed by the Selectboard to fill out the reminder of the 2026 term. The team will work to fulfill the duties of the office during the vacncy and transition. Meeting Friday, April 3, 2026, 10am, at Town Hall.
